Everybody wants a bright and beautiful smile, and it's possible to do it with some simple household items. Try these 4 methods for teeth whitening at home.

Peroxide and Baking Soda

This method starts with making a paste with baking soda and water. You can apply it to your teeth using a toothbrush, brushing it in for about 1 minute. If the baking soda paste has a taste you cannot stand, add lemon juice to the paste to give it some flavor.

You will then rinse out your mouth using peroxide. Swish it around for a minute and spit it out. You can mix the peroxide with a little bit of mouthwash to make it taste better.

This method can be abrasive, so limit yourself to doing it twice a week.

Apple Cider Vinegar

If the taste from using peroxide and baking soda is not appealing to you, apple cider vinegar is a great alternative. You will not make a paste with it, just dip your toothbrush in the vinegar and brush your teeth for about a minute. If you find it difficult to brush using just the vinegar, add some baking soda to make it into a paste.

Remember that vinegar is acidic, and can remove enamel. That is why you must follow up the treatment by brushing with regular toothpaste to get the vinegar off your teeth.

Coconut Oil

The process of oil pulling is known to have a positive effect on your oral health, breath, and teeth. It detoxifies your mouth, creating a very clean environment that prevents gum disease, cavities, and oral infections. Oil pulling will also help whiten teeth.

The process involves swishing coconut oil for about 20 minutes. It helps to do this while you are performing another task to take your mind off it, such as taking a shower or getting ready in the morning. Follow up by rinsing out your mouth using warm water, then brush like normal.

Orange Peels

The white part of an orange contains pectin, limonene, soluble fiber, glucarate, and vitamin C, which help naturally whiten teeth. The peel is not acidic, so it will not erode the enamel on your teeth in the process. You can rub your teeth with the inside of an orange peel prior to brushing for best results.
